Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has discussed with the Ministry of Supplies about the storage and supply of petroleum products.
The Prime Minister also apprised himself of the construction of the fuel pipeline from Raxaul of India to Amlekhgunj during a meeting with Ministerfor Supplies Deepak Bohara and Secretary at the Supplies Ministry Shreedhar Sapkota held at his office in Singha Durbar.
Minister Bohara said all the plans regarding the storage capacity have been presented before the Prime Minister and discussions held on expanding Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC)’s storage capacity to last for three months in the coming days.
According to him, topics as construction of fuel storage depots with a capacity of 50 thousand kilolitres of petroleum and five thousand tonnes of LPG in each province and a storage facility with a capacity of storing 50 thousand kilolitres petroleum in Kathmandu as well were presented before the Prime Minister. Stating that extensive discussions were held on the construction of the pipeline from Raxaul to Amlekhgunj for the smooth supply of petroleum products, the Supplies Secretary Sapkota saif the Ministry briefed the Prime Minister about the progress of the project.
He said the broad outline of the project was being prepared and the project should be completed within 30 months from the day the construction works are started. As per the latest study, the pipeline would have to be laid on 37 kilometres stretch.
